Revised Classification Criterial for the Antiphospholipid Syndrome
Park Ro-Jin

Abstract
The antiphspholipid syndrome (APS) is an important autoimmune disease characterized by thrombosis, venous or arterial, and recurrent fetal loss. Its diagnosis is based on detection of antiphospholipid antibodies (anticardiolipin Ab, lupus anticoagulant, anti-¥â32GPI Ab, anti-prothrombin Ab) with clinical manifestations. Since the Sapporo classification criteria for APS in 1999 New clinical, laboratory and experimental insights had been addressed at a workshop of ISTH (intemational society of thrombosis and haemostasis) in Sydney, Australia, Afterward, revisions to the international classification criteria have been revealed. Here we describe the revised criteria and also provide clinical validation using new criteria.
